About Us

Founded in 1986, Animal Connection ofTexas (A.C.T.) is a non-profit animal advocacy organization made up of volunteers who are committed to ending the suffering, abuse, and exploitation of all animals. We expose animal cruelty occurring behind closed doors, and educate the public on animal issues through innovative outreach campaigns.

Our Mission

ACT is dedicated to the elimination of animal suffering and exploitation.

ACT championed and won a 4-year battle to end pound seizure in Dallas (the practice of selling dogs and cats from city shelters to research labs).

Every year, thousands of unwanted cats and dogs are euthanized in shelters or worse, suffer tragic deaths outdoors after being forced to fend for themselves.

ACT helped establish SNYP in hopes of eliminating shelter euthanizations and reduce stray populations through pet owner education and providing reduced-cost options for dog and cat owners to have their pets safely spayed or neutered
